What to do in the event of a loss:
- Be sure you notify your agent of a loss as soon as possible. In order to move the claim handling forward quickly you should provide your agent with names, phone numbers and, if available, e-mail addresses of relevant contact people that will be most helpful in the investigation and adjustment process.
- Take all reasonable and necessary steps to protect your property from suffering additional damage.
- If appropriate notify the local authority of the circumstance and extent of your loss.
- Gather whatever receipts, documentation and supporting paperwork you may have that will help in the adjustment process.
- It is our standard to contact you within 24 hours of our notice of the loss. Please refer all inquiries, outside contacts or phone calls to our designated claim professional who will explain the entire process to you during your first contact.
You can rest assured we will do everything we possibly can to minimize the disruption that inevitably accompanies a loss. Following the above steps will greatly expedite the handling and resolution of your claim.
